If your vacuum line is disconnected, reconnect it (duh). Evaluate the hose and see if it is likely to stay on. Sometimes the hoses get dry and brittle, and are no longer flexible, and so they don't make a good seal. You can use a tiny hose clamp to make sure it stays on, or just replace the hose.
