OK so plenty of gas comes out. This means it is likely that gas is getting to your carbs. If you have an inline fuel filter, next step is to make sure that isnt clogged. Usually you can just take it off and blow through it with your mouth.
This is generally a good stopping point for testing your gas. If your bike was running and all of a sudden it stopped by the side of the road, and you have confirmed that gas is coming from your petcock and entering your carbs, then it is very likely your problem lies elsewhere. Of course, you may have dirty carbs, but generally that is a problem which comes on slow, or starts after a long time of disuse.
